OPENING | ATTUNING OUR BODIES
May 22, 2025

Dates: 22 MAY       Times: 18h

We are excited to invite you to the opening of our exhibition, Sensory Dialogues: Attuning Our Bodies, taking place on 22 May at 18h, featuring a tour with all the artists and an interactive sound experience. Drinks and themed food by Vegan Bear Chef will also be available.

Listening is a bodily practice of connection and transformation, blurring the boundaries between self, space, and environment. The 12 artists participating in this exhibition translate this sensation into installations, performances, and participatory experiences that invite visitors to engage differently with sound, space, and each other.

The evening programme extends beyond the exhibition space with the interactive sound experience Sensitive Systems by Marlot Meyer. Using wearable vests that translate heartbeats and breath into sound and touch, this group experience invites visitors to explore new ways of sensing, resonating, and relating to their environment. Through feedback loops of bodily vibration and sound, Sensitive Systems challenges conventional relationships with technology and offers an intimate exploration of embodied connection.

Ahead of the exhibition, we also invite you to join the NOTATIONS workshop on 17 May to participate in the creation of a collective artwork that will become part of the exhibition. In this workshop, collective vocal improvisations will be transformed into visual scores, capturing sound through expressive lines, shapes, and textures that reflect the energy and atmosphere of the moment.

Through an eclectic mix of installations, performances, and interactive experiences, Attuning Our Bodies explores how subtle resonances can transform our ways of sensing, connecting, and being present in the world. It invites visitors to deepen their engagement with their surroundings and to discover new forms of relational experience.

Participating Artists: Franz Ehn, Marlot Meyer, Ricardo Huisman, Christian Schwarz, Tania Zountsa, Berkveldt, Sofía Fernández Blanco, Robin Becker, Marko Ivic, Wen Chin Fu, Jason Clark and Xico Ribas.

/ This exhibition is made possible by the contribution of Amsterdamse Fonds voor de Kunst.\
