LEARNING THE ART OF LINOPRINTING

Lino printing is a printmaking technique where a design is carved into a soft linoleum block. The uncarved areas are inked, and the block is pressed onto paper or fabric to create your design.

SCHEDULEIntroduction: We’ll start by finding a design you’d like to print on your bag. Then we’ll show you how to use carbon paper to transfer your design onto the linoleum block.
Carving: Learn the carving technique and carve out your design with guidance from our instructor.
Printing: Once your design is carved, we’ll make a first print on paper, experimenting with colors and layouts until the final outcome is ready. The workshop concludes with printing your design onto your bag.

WHAT TO EXPECT
All materials are provided, along with drinks and snacks. By the end of the workshop, participants will take home:
Their handmade bag
A few paper prints
A lino block to continue creating their own designs at home

EXTRA INFO Think of a design you’d like on your bag. Start with something simple — large surfaces and few details — as carving into linoleum can be tricky at first.
