This workshop is part of a Workshops Series entitled “HerArt” focussing on female artists and their work. The current workshop is dedicated to Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist. You will learn about her life, career, and techniques.
In the first part of the workshop, there will be a drawing session where we will learn the main characteristics of a portrait, and you will create a portrait of another participant.
In the second part of the workshop, you will create a self-portrait with a narrative about yourself.

About Marcela Perrusquia
Marcela is a conceptual andvisual artist from Mexico, where she studied Fine Arts at the University ofQueretaro. In her work, she explores the intricacies of the mind and emotionsthrough various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture. By intersectingsurreal and real worlds, she challenges the notion of reality. She isinterested in themes, such as mental health, women’s stories and empowerment,and the complexities of immigration. At Treehouse, she will continue her recentwork focused on movement, while also intending to develop large artworks,workshops and collaborations.
