We’ll begin with a look atVico’s installation piece on display at Treehouse, using it as a starting pointto reflect on the meaning of materials, their art historical references, andtheir symbolic potential. From there, the focaus shifts to play: usingdiscarded or overlooked objects — such as food packaging, old wood, orcardboard — we’ll create our own artworks under Vico’s guidance.

You’ll learn a few keyprinciples demonstrated by Vico, and then dive into your own process. All skilllevels are welcome, from curious beginners to experienced makers.

Basic materials such as paintand old cardboard, paper scraps, etc, will be provided, but we encourage you tobring your own discarded items — anything from used packaging to scrapmaterials — to make your piece more personal.

We’ll end the evening with amini-exhibition of the works created, sharing thoughts over a cold drink as wereflect on, and discuss, the idea of transformation — in art, and in our ownlives.

You’ll go home with your ownunique artwork, made from what once seemed like nothing.
