This workshop is partof a Workshops Series entitled “HerArt” focussing on female artists and theirwork. The current workshop is dedicated to Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist. Youwill learn about her life, career, and techniques.

In the first part ofthe workshop, there will be a drawing session where we will learn the maincharacteristics of a portrait, and you will create a portrait of anotherparticipant.

In the second part ofthe workshop, you will create a self-portrait with a narrative about yourself.

About MarcelaPerrusquia

Marcela is a conceptualandvisual artist from Mexico, where she studied Fine Arts at the UniversityofQueretaro. In her work, she explores the intricacies of the mind andemotionsthrough various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture. Byintersectingsurreal and real worlds, she challenges the notion of reality. Sheisinterested in themes, such as mental health, women’s stories andempowerment,and the complexities of immigration. At Treehouse, she willcontinue her recentwork focused on movement, while also intending to developlarge artworks,workshops and collaborations.
