Harpo 'T Hart, Director artistic programme for  Embassy of the North Sea will give a talk at Treehouse NDSM together with artist Jonat Deelstra on how to advocate for the North Sea as a maker.

Embassy of the North Sea

The Embassy of the North Sea is a pioneering, interdisciplinary initiative founded in The Hague in June 2018 a was founded on the principle that the North Sea owns itself. Their aim is to represent the plants, animals, microbes, and people in and around the North Sea in the cultural, legal and political public domain.

Jonat Deelstra

Jonat Deelstra created a ceramic series titled Funeral Home the North Sea in combination with a video installation called Squatter of the North Sea. In this installation, Deelstra proposes an alternative burial ritual where urns and coffins are lowered to the bottom of the North Sea to protect marine life from fishing trawlers.
