STEP AWAY FROM CONVENTIONAL STRUCTURES AND LEARN A MORE EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH TO MOVING IMAGE
This class invites filmmakers to fall into a more intuitive approach to moving image. By working quickly, instinctively, and with limited material, participants will learn to trust their impulses and discover new ways of shaping meaning through rhythm, texture, color, and sound. Rather than pursuing a judgemental or pre-determined narrative, the intent is to cultivate sensitivity to the trivial moments of the duration and learning about observing the mind and the environment around.
The workshop is designed as both a creative exercise and a shared experiment, where participants can open to chance. By the end, each participant will have created a short, intuitive piece and gained a fresh perspective on how instinct can guide their practice.
This workshop aims to activate Treehouse’s shared spaces through filmmaking activities. It also opens potential opportunities for a film screening and festival of the work in the future.

WHAT TO PREPARE
- Something to film with (video camera, phone, gopro, etc)
- A laptop with any video editing program they currently use
- Power supplies for equipment/laptop
- Headphones to use with their computer
- A way to import your video to your computer
- Appropriate clothes and shoes to go film outside
