Raw, unfiltered, authentic.Elis Dao & Sola Masaru is a collaborative project born at Abbey RoadInstitute (NL), grounded in the energy of the studio as a space for inspirationand refuge. Their sound blends Dao’s rich soul vocals with Masaru’s deep bassgrooves, drawing influence from J Dilla, D’Angelo, and soul-funk icons of the60s and 70s. Performed through a dynamic live setup, their music explores theconnective power of rhythm and voice — intimate yet expansive, grounded yetfluid.

The duo’s work is political, poetic and deeply personal, invitingaudiences to feel, reflect, and resist.
