AN EVENING WHERE CONTEMPORARY JAZZ MEETS MINIMALISM AND IMPROVISATION
On 12 December, Live at Our Place invites you to a night of exploration, dialogue, and imagination. Emanuele Pellegrini opens the night with minimalist improvisations that convey geometry and emotion through meditative sonic sound. Katerina Orfanoudaki and Ignacio Pintó follow with a vivid expression of the harpsichord and contrabass, crafting inspiration from Xenakis, Satie, Bach, and Greek folklore into bold new textures. The Lisa Weyrauther Trio closes with eclectic jazz that moves beyond tradition, by blending grooves, melody, and atmosphere into a vibrant soundscape.Expect a night of curiosity, connection, and live creation.
EMANUELE PELLEGRINI
Emanuele Pellegrini explores a world where minimalism meets improvisation, sculpting sound into geometrical shapes and textural landscapes, between planning and spontaneity. Each piece unfolds like an architectural drawing in motion, structuring emotion in a delicate balance. Through repetition and harmonic exploration, the performance invites the listener into a meditative space where silence, resonance, and rhythm converge, revealing poetry as pure form.
DUO ORFANOUDAKI-PINT
Katerina Orfanoudaki and Ignacio Pintó explore together the limits of the unorthodox combination of harpsichord and contrabass. Young and electric, they employ improvisation as a meeting point to create music that they find relevant. In the journey they are immersed, they strive to find links between free forms of improvisation and their own original compositions as well as material from composers like Xenakis, Satie, Bach and other forms of music like Greek Folklore and Gregorian Chant. In every performance, they take advantage of their strong musical connection to challenge themselves in the creation of a sonic environment that traverses the boundaries of pure sound.
LISA WEYRAUTHER TRIO
The Lisa Weyrauther Trio is a project by German composer and pianist Lisa Weyrauther in which she brings her diverse musical inspirations into a lively jazz setting. She is joined in this adventure by the multifaceted musicians Ignacio Pintó (bass) and Alejandro Martin Puchau (drums). Unified by their shared passion for imaginative music, the trio creates a unique sound that explores far beyond the classical jazz idiom. Captivating grooves, bold and playful melodies, mesmerising atmospheres and meticulous attention to sound colour characterise the trio's musical language.
