What happens if you combine folk jazz with avant-groove? Find out in this edition of Live At Our Place - a series of concerts, where Treehouse residents present their music in a homely atmosphere.

KARNEL MAGITS

Kernel Magits is a trio of viola (5-string electric violin), keys and drums - each musician plays multiple instruments. While performing, the band turns into a musical spaceship traveling through and exploring different sonic realms. In this journey, they combine parts of the ethers to create a collective conscious body of sound.

Tseroeja van den Bos is a Treehouse resident. Her main instruments are the viola and the violin. She has been active as a session musician and performer in several genres, such as classical (Ars Musica), pop (David Guetta) and metal (Epica), from smaller stages to stadiums. She writes, thinks, composes and produces, but mainly improvises all over in different settings.
Giliam Spliethoff plays the piano and synthesizers. He is one of the two creative brains at Driftwood Audio, sound designing for games & film (You Can’t Automate Me, Underground Blossom, In Memory). He is a visionary in the world of conceptual music, building wondrous harmonic soundscapes.
Mathijs Mens, in his early career, played drums for many different bands across a wide range of genres in small rooms & studios and on several big stages & festivals (Melkweg, ’t Paard, North Sea Jazz). Now he is mainly focusing on his project AM Tusu, acting as a channel, broadcasting different matching, clashing and grinding frequencies, amplitude modulation, rhythm and noise structures on the spot. Playing for those who receive and anybody curious enough.
Expect evolving combinations of updated rhythm, signal, noise and soundscape.

Come as you feel.

LĪVA DUMPE

Līva Dumpe is first and foremost a storyteller - tameless and impressionistic. Rooted in Latvian folk ritual and symbolism, her songwriting is catchy, yet the harmonic language and expansion of vocal possibilities leave you guessing at every turn. With a background in classical piano and jazz vocals, her music weaves stories through improvisation.

Līva Dumpe is a Latvian vocalist, pianist and composer. Her debut album “Tālskatis”, alongside her quintet, was nominated for both Best Jazz Album and Best Debut Album at the Latvian music awards Zelta Mikrofons in 2025.
She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, jazz voice department. As part of her studies, she participated in an exchange program at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles.
You may have seen her collaborating with artists such as Louis Cole & Metropole Orkest, Ben van Gelder, Kika Sprangers, Marta Arpini, Flatland Prayer, Meander Trio, Federica Lorusso Quintet and Vera Morais Eupnea.
