In the weekend of May 30 and 31, Treehouse NDSM opens its doors during Open Ateliers Noord. Treehouse is a playground for serious artists, where around 200 Residents from different disciplines create and show their work, spread across 105 studios. But these are no ordinary studios: they are built from stacked houses and old shipping containers.
During Open Ateliers Noord, curious visitors can step inside many of these studios and join free workshops in the workshop space downstairs. Our Residents will be offering workshops this weekend in jewellery making, 3D painting, music improvisation, drum lessons, and more. In addition, our Pavilion will feature the current group exhibition Two Suns At Once, alongside works by artists from Noord without a permanent workspace.
At Treehouse, you can also win a prize this weekend by collecting stamps in each studio on your stamp card, which you can pick up at the central point. At the end of the weekend, you can collect your prize during the closing drinks, or in June.

Come and get a free drum lesson! We will get to know each other, and by the end of the session you will have all the information you need to decide whether you want to take regular lessons with me. Beginners will learn some of the basics they can instantly apply in musical contexts, and I will provide guidance and advice to more advanced students.

Experimenting with textures and acrylic paint. We will be using textiles, natural materials, plaster and acrylic paint to create a 3D canvas painting to take home with you.

ABOUT OPEN ATELIERS NOORD
Hundreds of artists in Amsterdam-Noord will present their work and workplaces during the 33rd edition of Open Ateliers Amsterdam Noord (OAN). Visitors are invited to step inside studios, workshops, and creative hubs. In addition to three group exhibitions in Molenwijk, NDSM-FUSE, and Treehouse, there are also “neighbourhood spots” with additional activities. These locations show how art connects with the surrounding communities. Open Studios Amsterdam North is free and open to everyone: local residents, art enthusiasts, professionals, and visitors from outside the area.
