DATES: 13 NOV- 7 DEC 2025
TIMES: THU - SUN 13H - 18H
OPENING THU 13 NOV AT 18H
Sustainability and circularity might seem like familiar concepts by now. Yet in Temporarily Out of Place, ten artists at Treehouse NDSM demonstrate that sustainability is about more than just the reuse of materials and objects. To create a more sustainable world, we must adapt our ways of living and re-examine systems and habits that are currently taken for granted.
The exhibition is curated by Marije Remigius (founder of Circu Leren) and Mulan Go, artistic coordinator at Treehouse NDSM. The participating artists take a critical look at excesses in our current consumer society.
The exhibition features works by Gabriele Bonomi, Jonat Deelstra, Jean Danton Laffert, Helen Anna Flanagan, KIEM & Imke Hullmann, Nesie Junyi Wang, Nawon Koo, Rucha Kulkarni, Philip Ling / Yuk Lin Man and Baroeg Mulder.
This exhibition is made possible thanks to Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and the Cirrus Foundation

Circularity by Community
25 November 2025 | 19H – 21H | Treehouse NDSM
How can artistic practice inspire more circular ways of working?
Hosted by Circular.amsterdam, this evening invites circular makers, thinkers, and doers to reflect and discuss around the works presented in Temporarily Out of Place.
The exhibiting artists explore mutable materials, shared resources, and adaptive ways of making—reconsidering how we build, reuse, and collaborate. Together, we’ll respond to their work: what do these practices reveal, and how can we translate their insights into our own?
