Brought to you by MenAsWell, There Was A Time Before collective hosts a 45-minute panel discussion featuring two artists and one practitioner working at the intersection of art and social change. Centering the voices of male+ and queer artists, the conversation explores how creative practice can make visible experiences of intimate and sexual violence that are too often silenced or misunderstood. Together, panellists will reflect on the relationship between storytelling, representation and recovery, considering how art can challenge stigma, create connection, and open up new ways of understanding ourselves, our bodies, and our communities.
