Two Suns At Once at Treehouse NDSM is an exhibition about the fertile meeting ground between visual art and music, encouraging artists to collaboratively develop new work or present existing collaborative projects that complement and amplify one another. At the heart of this exhibition lies the idea of connection and linkage through art. At the same time, questions about authorship arise: what emerges when two distinct languages, sound and visual art, converge? Can two suns shine at once or does it become a hybrid? Can artists maintain a recognisable individual voice within collaboration and is that even necessary? Or has the emphasis on individual authorship become outdated and should we look more at collective art practices?
The exhibition is curated by Treehouse artist Vico Persson and Treehouse artistic coordinator Mulan Go.

THE EXHIBITION IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE SIDE PROGRAMME:
Hybrid Salon: 6/06, 18H - 19H
For this session, makers and creatives are invited to join the salon asan open space to create, study, reflect, or simply listen, while being accompanied by live piano music by Xavier Boot.
Participants are welcome to work independently during the session, but there is also room to respond to Boot’s piano playing, creating an informal dialogue between music and artistic practice. The session is open to small-scale artistic practices, feel free to bring a notebook, watercolors, markers, knitting, or other portable materials to work with during the salon.
Bite & Resonance: 7/06, 18H - 19H
Enjoy a welcome drink and a three-course dining experience prepared by Vegan Bear chef Gabriele Bonomi, accompanied by live Samba and Bossa Nova music performed and improvised by jazz singer Martina Effy.
Making Rhythm: Drum Session: 13/06, 13H - 16H
Drummer Aurel Violas leads a drum workshop in which participants are introduced to the basics of drumming and learn how to respond more freely through improvisation. After visiting the exhibition "Two Suns atOnce", participants will choose an artwork that inspires them, and Aurel will guide them in translating their impressions of the work into a rhythm that reflects its atmosphere and character.
